WMBB ABC-13, a local television station in Panama City, recently published an article regarding the costs of a DUI. Speaking to Attorney Sauline, the dangers and costs of a DUI were highlighted--particularly in the financial sense. Lt. Tochterman, of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, discussed the implications of a DUI, as well as the County’s handle on drinking and driving this New Year’s season.
Attorney Albert J. Sauline commented on the matter, and was even quoted on mypanhandle.com: “Ten thousand dollars is still a very accurate figure even in 2017.” He went on to discuss the implications for someone of military status, stating: “Not only are they being punished in civilian Court but they also have to think about what is the military going to do to punish them and how is it going to affect their career? One night could ruin your life.”
Attorney Sauline went on to urge drivers with prescriptions to check their medication bottles before getting behind the wheel, as a DUI applies to driving under any influence--not just alcohol.
